Broadening National Imaging Facility Capabilities in NSW

Delivering extra infrastructure to support research through investment in new radiochemistry facilities and capability, as well as growing imaging expertise in NSW that address two immediate imaging priorities for NSW.

University of New South Wales (UNSW) on behalf of National Imaging Facility (NIF)

$1,629,000

Scaleup of Technologies to Produce Stem Cells and Stem Cell-Derived Disease Models

Enabling the purchase and installation of a bioreactor in VCCRI Innovation Centre Stem Cell Production Facility to increase the scale and production of stem cells and more complex disease models, staff training, and the development and optimisation of induced pluripotent stem cell production.

Australian National University (ANU), on behalf of Phenomics Australia

$575,000

Enabling Access to Advanced Cell and Gene Therapies at Tech Central Precinct

Expanding researcher access to cell and gene therapy process development capabilities, which is a crucial step in translating research discoveries into viable potential products within the Tech Central Precinct.

Therapeutic Innovation Australia

$1,125,000

Advanced Microscopes and Experts to Meet the Growing Needs of the NSW Innovation Community

Enabling NSW researchers to image, track and analyse critical elements, like hydrogen, lithium and sodium that are being developed for cleaner, greener energy solutions, a circular economy and other timely applications.

The project supports and maintains Microscopy Australia’s world-class research facilities in NSW, so that Australian researchers can provide answers to some of our most complex problems. These answers will ultimately translate to environmental, economic, health and social benefits for NSW and the nation.

University of Sydney, on behalf of Microscopy Australia

$2,152,000

Enabling Access to Advanced Cell and Gene Therapies at Westmead Precinct

Building on current expertise to develop closed-system manufacturing capabilities, facilitating both process development and the manufacturing of products for clinical use. Furthermore, they will establish GMP compliant cold storage facilities which are crucial for conducting clinical trials.

Therapeutic Innovation Australia

$1,521,000

Delivering Knowledge to Ensure Sustainable Use of the NSW Marine Estate

Enhancing oceanography knowledge and understanding in NSW on the distribution and movement of threatened marine animals and commercially important fish species by validating physical oceanographic models and applying more precise monitoring approaches to assess water quality impacts from estuary outflows in coastal waters of NSW.

Sydney Institute of Marine Science

$1,939,000

RNA Products Capability

Expanding capabilities for the manufacture and quality control of RNA therapeutics through employment and training of skilled technical staff, procurement and upgrade of equipment and instruments, and business development and outreach activities to promote NSW for the research and development of RNA therapeutics.

Therapeutic Innovation Australia
