Supporting Young Scientists Equity and Access Program

Funding for this grant opportunity is now fully subscribed and applications have closed for 2024.

In 2023, the Office of the NSW Chief Scientist & Engineer (OCSE) launched a new program to replace the former Supporting Young Scientists Program (SYSP).

The Supporting Young Scientists Equity and Access Program (SYSEAP) supports high school students wishing to further their STEM education through a related competition, event, or course either within Australia or internationally, regardless of their circumstances, background or location.

The Program aims to maximise STEM education opportunities for NSW high school students who are:

  • experiencing financial hardship
  • from a low socio-economic background
  • from regional or remote locations
  • Aboriginal and Torres Strait Islander
  • from any other backgrounds that might need support.
