NSW Chief Scientist & Engineer, Professor Mary O'Kane, has recommended a comprehensive process for monitoring impacts on water resources as part of her independent review of the state's coal seam gas activities.
This process is aimed at placing monitors and using data from them to reduce the uncertainty associated with the potential impacts on water quality and quantity of various extractive industries.
Professor O'Kane's full recommendation is included in the report, 'Placement of monitoring equipment for water resources in NSW', which has been released publicly.
The independent CSG review is continuing.
